This garden is all about connections,
Connections to the surroundings, to village life and to nature.
It's a place to connect and re-connect, personally with friends and family, with the outdoors.
It's a garden that blends modern living with a listed cottage and woodland surround just perfectly.

Starting with a contemporary country styling to the front, the entrance is annotated with dark green domes of Taxus baccata (yew) - raj green sandstone paving with classic edging detailing gives way to borders of lavender hedges and summer perennials, whilst Bathsheba roses will adorn the cottage walls.

The extensive back garden is divided into a series of spaces, for different modes and moods. Around the house, a series of patios for dining and relaxing, step down through planters filled with an ever-changing mix of evergreens, spring bulbs and perennials. Herbs and jasmine scent the summer air, for complete immersion. Wood batten detailing provides a nod to the yachts lying just meters away, and subtle lighting adds a playful night-time glow.

Stretching away from the house, the lawn features classically planted deep borders in a warm palette from blues and purples through to occasional pink and coral highlights. Culminating with a view to a specimen Prunus serrula (Tibetan cherry), selected for its stunning bark in winter. Where possible, trees and shrubs from the previous garden have been incorporated into the space.

From the lawn, an oval deck sits deep in border surrounded by naturalistic planting - offering a secluded spot to soak up afternoon sun, or watch sunsets and wildlife in the meadows beyond. Small grass-covered pathways complete a circuit through the borders, deep in flowers and grasses through summer and autumn.
