The Forever Garden

This town garden is designed for enjoyment now and for investing for years to come. The brief was “drama”, fun and, only the best — but with smart, practical touches: level surfaces, wide paths, and defined edges ensure it is accessible and easy to manage in the future.

For drama, we’ve used oak arches, a bespoke design pergola, and striking specimen plants to create dynamic views that will evolve as jasmine and clematis grow iup. Mirrors subtly expand the space, while new specimen trees - Cercis, Hoheria, and Betula – will add privacy and character.

Materials were carefully chosen to connect the house’s decorative brickwork to the garden — rustic slate and resin-bound gravel bordered with sandstone. The dark blue fence showcases the planting, and the oak will weather to a soft silver.

There are plenty of spots to pause — for coffee, wine, or a long lunch with friends. We can’t wait to see the garden mature over the coming year.

The design has a hidden plan:
The view of the garden from each room in the house is an ever-changing picture in it’s own right, and,
The paths and paving are on one level and wide enough to be enjoyed side-by-side (with a carer),
Which mean this garden will give as much pleasure now, as in older age when our clients mobility will decline.
